Roelf van Arwerderpad was here at Tailwind Friesians as a weanling and is remembered as sweet, but sensitive. He is a smart gelding who will likely be very light to the leg and personable. He is an athletic performance prospect sired by 2006 world champion, Beart. His Dam's sire is modern stallion Fabe.
In researching Roelf's Grand-dam, we find he is of Stam line 25. This is the line known for legendary mares Vesta 4528, Model-Pref; Nienke f.t Sud 3893 Model - Pref; and Jeanette 5275 Star - Pref. Many approved stallions also come from Stam 25.
Roelf is going to be 3 years old May or 2008 and has already had some ground work done and is used to having tack on (both english and western). Although his inbreeding coefficient is only .98%, he IS a gelding. His owner is looking for something she can utilize NOW. She would like a mellow Friesian with a lot of experience. Trades are a consideration as long as they are healthy, sound, mellow and Friesian.
Here is a description from his owner, Niki: "Roelf is a stunning, 2.5yr old Friesian gelding, imported from Holland, with Beart 411 and Fabe 348 bloodlines. He has outstanding confirmation, impressive gates and superb disposition. Roelf is currently standing at 15.2hh and still growing. Roelf is an easy keeper, with great feet (currently barefoot), who ties, tacks up, and has started W/T/halt on the lung line, and ready to start this summer. This eye-catching Dutch registered gelding has all the presence and movement to take you to the top. Sale includes winter blanket, rain blanket, fly blanket, and leather halter. Offered to an approved home at $18,000."
