Happy Customers
|
These are the original referral letters from customers. We will add more in the coming days. We've heard some awesome updates on most of the horses and always enjoy new photos and news! We also recognize that it's easy to put up only glowing referrals. I'm happy to share the not so perfect transactions too. Occasionally we've had transport delays, and quarantine delays. However we strive to make the import and even domestic sales go flawlessly and we also do our best to disclose anything we possibly can that may come up after the sale. It's much easier for us to have happy customers than to do damage control. We're looking out for YOU!

From Siri and Troy Tobey who purchased Murk, Tetscke and Wilone.

From Siri and Troy Tobey: "I would like to take this opportunity to thank Laurie Peterson and Tailwind Friesians for their wonderful customer service and satisfaction they brought to our first Friesian purchase experience. I can’t say enough about Laurie’s superb, personal customer care, and attention to detail that she brought to every aspect of this adventure. Tailwind Friesians really did make this a wonderful and happy adventure. We purchased a young gelding, and a bred mare with a filly. They are all of very good quality and have awesome potential. Laurie found the perfect horses for us, and we couldn’t be happier. I was amazed at all the details of buying, shipping and transporting these wonderful animals. Laurie did an excellent job of keeping us informed, with up to date information. She also took care of every detail. We learned a lot through this experience, and we are so glad we had Laurie Peterson and Tailwind Friesians leading the way."
Come see Siri and Troy's new horses at the Monroe, WA keuring in September.

I would like to thank Laurie and Eric for finding me such a wonderful 3 yr old Friesian gelding named Mike. He has a sweet and gentle eye-something that Laurie and Eric consider to be very important, as I do too. Mike loves to work, is nicely forward with a quiet mind, is beautiful to look at, has 3 fantastic gaits and is really a joy to ride and train. Every day Mike tries to please me and he thrives on attention and praise. Laurie imported Mike for me without any problems and she stayed in contact with me at least once a day. If you are looking for the perfect horse for your lifestyle, I would like to recommend starting with Laurie and Tail wind Friesians. They will work very hard for you. Sincerely, Susan Traylor, USDF bronze, silver and gold medalist.

In regards to the quality of the horses we recently imported for Siri and Troy Tobey:
Stunning is an understatement - she (Wilone) has such an amazing personality and presence for such a young horse to go with the amazing conformation and movement - what a package! Murk is the clown of the century! He keeps us laughing in between wanting to clobber him for banging buckets and bumping his stall - but who could get after him - he gives you that "Aren't I sooo cute" look and you just gotta give him a hug and kiss! Tetscke is such an amazing horse - her nobility shines through even though she is so demure - I told Siri what an amazing package she is getting compared to the horses that have come through here and that I have seen at the Kurings I went to up north and in Fresno - no comparison to the quality of these three.

Sjoerd - at home in California
|
 |
Following is a letter from Xena, who purchased Sjoerd. He is available at stud at Three Day Ranch in California.
About my purchasing experience: Laurie made me feel comfortable and confident in my purchase of Sjoerd. Being in CA, and at that time, totally unable to fly up to view Sjoerd in person, Laurie did all she could to provide me with the all information on him so that I was confident in my purchase. Offering me a vet check, supplying me with current photos, and updates on Sjoerd, she made me aware of any and all issues he was having making this long distance purchase rather painless. Being new to Friesians, Laurie has offered me much support in filling out paperwork for his registration papers and assisted me in their completion. Laurie worked with my transporter and made the entire transaction smooth for all parties. It can be frightening making such a commitment from far away, being unable to deal directly with Laurie and Sjoerd in person. I dearly LOVE Sjoerd. I have NO regrets regarding any aspect of his purchase and I will ABSOLUTELY be purchasing another Friesian from Laurie in the future. Regards, Xena

Wiebe and Yaffa in Washington
|
 |
We've just received an update from Yaffa that Wiebe is doing great and she is riding him many days per week! What a lucky gelding. **** Here is her original referral: "I love Wiebe. In fact, everyone loves him, from my trainer, to my farrier, to my vet. He is
such a sweet gentle soul, how could anyone not fall in love with him? Of course, he's not
perfect, but then who is, horse or human? I've discovered that he can be a bit stubborn,
and he still has his nervous spooky moments as he continues to settle in to his new home, a
process that hasn't been helped by a progression of the craziest winter weather in years:
everything from gale-force winds to torrential downpours to snow and ice. So considering
all that, he's doing great. He really has an exceptional temperament, especially when you
think about all he's been through with being sold in the Netherlands, going through
quarantine, traveling to the US, being at Laurie's, and then at the barn in Enumclaw, and
now with me. The poor guy has had so much upheaval in his short life; it's amazing that
he's as steady as he is. I'm taking things slowly and spending lots of time with him and I
think he's definitely figuring out that I'm his new person. My trainer is also a huge
believer in taking things slow and not pushing horses, so our sessions are all designed to
help Wiebe and I get used to each other and end on a good note for him. After all, he'll be
with me for the rest of his life so there's no hurry. My trainer recently commented that
being around Wiebe has confirmed her belief that she'd like to have a Friesian of her own
one day, and believe me, coming from my trainer, that is high praise.
I also would like to say how great you and Laurie were to work with, your patience,
openness, and willingness to answer any and all questions, and how in Wiebe's case, it was
very evident that Laurie really cared about what type of home Wiebe went to."

"Wiebe Tales...."
It sounds like Wiebe is quite the character at his new home. Here's an excerpt from Yaffa's email about the bucket hiest. :-)
"Wiebe stole the grain bucket of the mare who lives next to him yesterday. It was empty when he took it, but Kellie and Peter were looking all over for it. Kellie finally found it at the end of Wiebe's paddock, and while it was still in one piece, it bore signs of being vigorously played with and chewed on. Since the empty buckets are stacked on the floor, Wiebe would have had to snake his long neck over his stall door, pick the bucket up in his teeth, and pull it into his stall! "

Sissel - Maggie Schuler
|
 |
A little background from Tailwind Friesians, Laurie Peterson: I found out that Maggie had some health issues within her family and was having no luck selling her mare Sissel. I felt compelled to do something to help. While this isn't usually what I do to assist in the sale of a horse, I picked Sissel up from the Seattle area and brought her to Ellensburg to help market her. Because Sissel had recently come out of training with Biagina Lazaroni and had a terrific start, I agreed to ride Sissel and keep the training on her while we looked for the right home. Thanks to the quality care at 14 Carrot Farm, and the assistance of Kelley Mills, Jen and Sissel found each other. Thanks to Barb, and Kelley. Congrats to Jen! AND... we're really glad to hear that all is well with Maggie and Ron.
From Sissel's previous owner, Maggie Schuler: "Working with Laurie Peterson has been a true gift! Not only did she come forward and "take over the reins" of promoting and selling my mare when I had to step down due to a family illness, but she worked tirelessly to match my horse with the right person. It is Laurie's foremost priority to not just buy or sell a horse, but rather to find the perfect partner for the horse. She truly wants happy horses as well as happy customers. Plus, she is extremely honest and fun to work with. Laurie Peterson will have my business in the future. She not only gets the job done but it is how she does it!"

Congratulations Nikki! ROELF

Roelf at home in Canada!
|
Laurie,
First I want to thank you and your husband for making us feel at home on our visit to your farm. You were so welcoming and friendly, you made us feel completely comfortable. When we arrived, you were great to show me all the horses so that I could compare them to Roelf, the yearling I had come down to view. I want to thank you for all your patients and help. I admire that you never pushed me into a decision and that you felt that it was more important that you think we had a connection than to make a sale.
I was originally looking for a horse that I could already ride, but after watching the videos of Roelf, I felt I had to take a look. And am I glad that I did! I was hesitant about buying a horse so young, but after meeting Roelf, I could see that he was going to be a challenge as all young horse are, but a challenge that I would enjoy, with rewards worth the wait.
It was a long haul for a yearling, but Roelf did it with grace. When we arrived home, after 10 hours in the trailer, Roelf stepped out, walked into his stall, nuzzled the gelding in the next stall, let out a HUGE sigh, and promptly began to eat. Everyone is amazed at how level headed he is, and so jealous. The gelding in the next stall is usually very slow to warm up to new horses, but by the next morning they were like ‘two peas in a pod’. Just goes to show you what a great temperament Friesians have with people and other horses. In fact, the owner of the gelding loves Roelf so much that she has already decided that her next horse is going to be a Friesian.
Four days after Roelf’s arrival we took him over to the vet clinic to be gelded. My Vet just adored him. She just couldn’t get over the fact that he was only a year old. She said that he was so calm that they didn’t even sedate him to geld him. And this is his second time in a new environment in under a week! He just walks into the trailer and says, “Were to next? I hope they have good treats!” Needless to say that Roelf is going to be well loved and spoiled.
I am happy to provide a reference for Laurie, as she is true in her guidings to find the right horse for the right person. Feel free to email me any questions at nmccaw@hotmail.com

Pieter with Edy's Daughter
|
|
Pieter at home in Florida!
|
Here is a letter from Edy shortly after Pieter KP arrived. We continue to get positive updates about him! Edy will soon be on our Links page:
"Well it has been about a week since Pieter has arrived at our home and we couldn't be more in love. My husband who knows "nothing" about horses, & he keeps telling me that we really have something special. I should have guessed this when the vet in WA said, "you really got a nice one," then the transportation company told me they spoiled him because his beauty was one thing, but his SWEET SWEET temperament, just melted their heart, to the driver of the truck stating he hated giving this one up, to the hundreds of friends & family that's stopped by, just to see him and can't believe how lucky I am for getting such a wonderful horse...
I am a first time Friesian owner and it has been everything I've dreamed about and more and we had very HIGH EXCEPTIONS for him. We were truly blessed because, not only did he exceed our expectations, with his beauty, grace and brains he has settled in like he grew up on on property, loving all the attention and all our family members (even our annoying dog...lol), I can't thank Laurie enough for selecting him, and telling us that he would be what we were looking for... She knew we were the "right" fit for each other.
I also have to thank Laurie for taking a leap of faith on me, as I did on her. Working with me and my terms, giving me several options to make me comfortable on such a big decision, she just went above and beyond. I was so scared that buying a horse "sight unseen" would be something that I would regret, I gave my trust in a complete stranger, but we were hardly strangers towards the end of this deal. After doing my research, checking their references via e-mail and phone, after our 83+ e-mails and countless telephone conversations (even when I called REAL early forgetting the time zone differences, with all the excitement), she always attempted to put my mind at ease, and trust me, my mind was always at work.. lol... I hope one day, I am blessed enough to purchase another Friesian, and if and when we do, I would not hesitate to call Laurie to help us. Thank you for everything, I especially enjoyed the photo diary of Pieter departing on the Semi. This was so emotional for me, and I am so glad I experienced my dream with Laurie's help."
Thank You - From The Bottom Of Our Hearts"
